ECLAS 2006 - Cultural dimension of urban landscape
The annual conference of ECLAS member universities (European Council of Landscape Architecture Schools) was held at the Faculty of Architecture in Bratislava on September 20-24, 2006.
The conference reviewed the aspects of cultural dimensions of urban landscape. The cultural dimensions of urban landscape as the subject of the conference were presented in professional view on different aspects of European and world culture impacts on the landscape in the structure of:
• Urban Cultural Landscapes
• Water and Greenery in Cultural Landscapes
• Urban Landscape Experience Worldwide
The themes were presented in different fields of research, educational or practical interest, e.g. cultural identity of urban landscape, values in cultural landscapes, works of art in the landscape.
Each session of the conference was devoted to keynote presentation by an invited speaker and contribution talks on the same theme. A poster sessions dedicated to same issues was externalised on the foyer of Faculty of Architecture.
Subsequent two-day excursion after the Conference was organised during the weekend ( Nitra , Levoca, Spišský castle, the High Tatras, Banská Štiavnica).
