Danubius Award 2017 awarded to prof. Maroš Finka, PhD, Head of the Spectra, Centre of Excellence.

The Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy in cooperation with the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe confered the Danubius Award 2017 to prof. Maroš Finka, PhD, Head of the Spectra, Centre of Excellence. This award was created in 2011 with the intention to honour persons with extraordinary achievements in their scientific activity and output in relation to the Danube Region. Within a rotation system in one year achievements in the fields of humanities, social and cultural studies are awarded, in the following year achievements in the fields of life sciences. The Danubius Award is a contribution towards implementing the EU Strategy for the Danube Region which has been endorsed by the European Council in 2011, with the aim of giving higher visibility to the Danube region also as an area for collaborative interdisciplinary research.

23rd November 2017 - The lecture of PhDr.Peter Pleva, speaker and preventionist of the Municipal Police Department of City of Bratislava

Spectra, Centre of Excellence was on 23rd November 2017 the venue of the lecture of PhDr.Peter Pleva, speaker and preventionist of the Municipal Police Department of City of Bratislava. Dr.Pleva met the students of spatial planning master course and dedicated his presentation to problems of public safety policy with relation to specific citizens groups in the territory of Bratislava. His contribution was focused on the specifics of endangered social groups, issues related to street working and best examples from the municipal level practice. Students appreciated the following discussion. Spectra, Centre of Excellence is looking forward to future cooperation.

TRANSGREEN project working meeting 22nd-23rd of January 2018

"Spectra, Centre of Excellence was during 22nd-23rd of January 2018 a venue of TRANSGREEN project working meeting.   Experts from fields connected to integrated transport planning congregated in Bratislava to focus on developing a key TRANSGREEN output: the Guidelines on Integrated Transport Development. Seven countries were represented in the meeting, showing the high interest in bringing input in a document that would influence the way transport planning is done in the CEE region.

Day for Public, 15th February 2018, at Spectra, Centre of Excellence

Spectra, Centre of Excellence and Institute of Management STU (where Spectra is based) will organise Day for Public. This event will be held on Thursday, 15th February 2018 in Spectra Centre in Bratislava (Vazovova 5, room 5-1, 5th floor) at 1.00 PM. The main goal of the event is to introduce the acredited study programmes of the Institute of Management, with special emphasis on Spatial planning. Showcases of the work of the current students ("City as a Personality") will be included. We are looking forward to meet you at Spectra, Centre of Excellence.

Expert Workshop on strategic investment packages, 15-16th March 2018

Spectra, Centre of Excellence and Institute of Management STU were during 15-16th March 2018 the venue of Expert Workshop on strategic investment packages as a support action for the development of national investment plans introducing examples of the best practice from France, Sweden and the UK. In this context, Prof. Maroš Finka, from SPECTRA Centre of Excellence of EU – Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava presented the TRANSGREEN project. His aim was to bring into discussion the environmental sustainability of transport investments and, thus, to complete the existing approach which focuses mainly on two out of three pillars of sustainable development: social and economic factors such as productivity, economic growth or welfare. To support this, he offered a concrete example and package of solutions from the Carpathian region as derived from TRANSGREEN project.

Spectra, Centre of Excellence and Institute of Management of STU are inviting you for 3rd Annual Planning Day under the headline "Plan it better" (5th April 2018, 5,00 PM, Restaurant Nervos). The event is organized by the students of spatial planning and will be focused on current problems of planning (presentation of project Whatcity - Mitchkiewička, brownfields discussion, profesional experiences of spatial planners and their careers). The final announcement of awards of students competition MUNISS

Spectra, Centre of Excellence and Institute of Management would like to invite you for the final announcement of awards of students competition MUNISS and for the planned public discussion in the Obchodná street, which will be held on Wednesday, 6th June. The event will be started from 10,00 AM in Mirror Hall of Primate Palace by awards of 7th annual students competition and then will be contuiuned from 2,00 PM in Obchodná street in front of Hotel Crowne Plaza.

Šanghaj má dnes viac ako 25 miliónov obyvateľov, nové vedenie mesta chce obmedziť tlak na zástavbu v jeho zázemí a otvoriť nové rozvojové územie na ostrove Chongming, ktorý je súčasťou Šanghaja a tretím najväčším ostrovom Číny. Mala by tu v priebehu niekoľkých rokov vzniknúť nová autonómna časť Šanghaja, ktorá by predstavovala model ekospoločnosti 21. storočia, postavená na báze environmentálnej, sociálnej aj ekonomickej udržateľnosti s využitím smart prístupu,“ hovorí profesor Maroš Finka zo Slovenskej technickej univerzity.

8th annual project MUNISS 2019, 15th November 2018 in Brno

Spectra, Centre of Excellence, Slovak University of Technology and City of Bratislava would like to invite you for official kick off meeting of the 8th annual project MUNISS 2019. The event will be held on Thursday, 15th November 2018 in Brno, the building of New Municipal House, Dominikánske square 196/1 from 10,00 AM. The project MUNISS is dedicated to Smart City startegies for cities of Brno and Bratislava and the main participators are student from STU Bratislava and VUT Brno. Dr. Vladimír Ondrejička and dr.Silvia Ondrejičková are main coordinators representing STU Bratislava.
