Conference of EYPF in Mannheim (12th – 13th October 2010)
Spectra, Centre of Excellence and Academy for Spatial Research and Planning (ARL) Hannover are co-organizing the international conference of European Young Professionals´Forum under the headline Challenges of European Spatial Development: Young Professionals´ and Researchers´ Perspectives on 12th-13th October 2010 in Mannheim.
The conference focuses on the projects of 8 young professionals that have been promoted in their career development during the period from June 2009 to July 2010. Their research findings will be presented in three panels: Implementing Territorial Cohesion, Demographic Change and Climate Change. Each topic will be introduced by a keynote speaker providing the background of discussion for current issues of European spatial development. Among the most important topics are the following issues:
How do private enterprises in the Netherlands influence regional development?
Will senior citizens in the Austrian coutryside be able to maintain an independent lifestyle?
What city is better equipped to fight climate change: Leipzig or Bratislava?
Why do young and well educated women leave Eastern Germany?
How do Slovakian regions prepare younger generations for future demands of the global economy?
