Days for Public at SPECTRA
Spectra, Centre of Excellence and Institute of Management (where Spectra is based) have organised two Days for Public. The first event has been held on Monday, 1st March 2010 in Training Centre of Spectra in Poprad, followed by the 2nd event, public presentation of Spectra and Institute of Management, held on Thursday 4th March 2010 in Spectra Centre in Bratislava. The main goal of both events was to introduce the acredited study programmes based on the Institute of Management, with special emphasis on Spatial planning. In academic year 2010/11 there will be the following study programmes available: spatial planning in bachelor, master and PhD. study, construction economics in masters study and sectoral and branch economics in PhD. study.
Bachelor study:
Spatial planning:
Graduates of bachelor study have the knowledge necessary for effective management of spatial planning activities, inventarisation and analytical work and implementation management in the field of spatial development. They will find their job positions within spatial planning processes, including management of development projects, management processes of development of rural and urban settlements, regional development, as well as development on national and European level.
Master study:
Spatial planning:
Study is focused on acquiring the abilities to analyse the state of art, characteristics and values of spatial systems regarding their nature and socio-economic structures, culture, economics, ecology, economic and social dimensions, landscape aesthetics, as well as on forms of utilising landscape and settlement. Graduates are able to use this knowledge in their own creative planning work. They are able to facilitate the processes of social participation, steer the mediation of conflicts in planning process and coordinate a complex territorial and spatial management. Module Real Estate Engeneering enriches the graduatesĀ“ profile in terms of real estate law, economic tools concering real estate market development as well as the knowledge of investments and financial issues related to spatial devlopment.
Construction Economics and Management:
The study programme is interdisciplinary. The graduates of the program will acquire the knowledge and capabilities needed for management and investments in the civil engineering sector. They will be employed as the managers and economists of activities related to building and civil engineering sector .
PhD study:
Spatial planning
Graduate of PhD. Study is able to make research in the processes of spatial development, to identify the principles and regularities. The graduate can propose new approaches, new tools and methods of spatial development regulation, with the emphasis on safeguarding its sustaianbility. The graduate is also able to propose new ways, methods and instruments that can be utilised in the planning practice, design and management of spatial development of territorial units as well as of the whole land. The graduate can find the employment opportunities in the science, in the education and practice of land-use and spatial planning and in the management of spatial development.
Sectoral and Branch Economics
The study focused on the acquisition of scientific abilities to solve complex problem Sectoral and Branch Economics, presenting the results through publications, teaching and defense of final dissertation. Graduate finds the job in scientific research, in universities, consulting in the conceptual professions (strategic plans, analysis, management), and state and public administration.

Management of technological processes in chemistry and food industry
The Department of Management of Chemical and Food Technology (UM STU) is
providing the pedagogical process within the newly-established study
programme on Management of Technological Processes in Chemistry and Food
Industry. The study programme has been accredited at the Faculty of
Chemical and Food Technology STU within the study branche 5.2.18
Chemical Technologies. The graduate is an engineer with a broad
technological background and has the knowledge of methods and techniques
of analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry, chemical
engineering and chemical informatics.
*Automation, information systems and management in chemical and food
industries *
The Department of Management of Chemical and Food Technology (UM STU) is
providing the pedagogical process within the bachelor study aimed at
automation, information systems and management in chemical and food
industries being accredited at the Faculty of Chemical and Food
Technology STU. The study programme belongs to study branches 5.2.14
