Students field trip to Piran (Slovenia, 21st-23rd April, 2022)

Students of master study of spatial planning at Institute of Management, STU Bratislava took part in the field trip to Slovenian coastal town of Piran. The city is one of the most historically relevant places in Slovenia, a true gem of medieval Venetian architecture set up in the marvellous landscape of northern Istra.

International Students Workshop „Positive Energy Districts - Trinational course on Integrated Spatial and Energy Planning Approaches for existing settlements“

International Students Workshop „Positive Energy Districts - Trinational course on Integrated Spatial and Energy Planning Approaches for existing settlements“ was held between 9th and 14th May in STU Bratislava and City of Trenčín. Main organizers were Institute of Management, STU Bratislava/Spectra Centre of Excellence, Belgrade University and Vienna University of Technology. More than 40 students from above mentioned universities and dozen of lecturers took part in this event, which included both theoretical (in Bratislava) and practical aspects (Trenčín) of integrated spatial and energy planning. Topics of spatial planning, climate change, energetic efficiency, sustainable energy. back-casting planning scenarions and energy governance were in the spotlight. On the final day in Trenčín, 10 groups of students presented their work focused on selected territorial areas/units in city of Trenčín, applying concept of positive energy neighbourhoods.

An annual Network Conference of Spa-ce.net (network joining Central and South European Universities and Research Institutes focused on Spatial Planning) under the headline “Future of the Traces of Modernity: Public Mass housing neighbourhoods“ will be held 26th-28th September 2022 in Bratislava. Spectra Centre of Excellence and Institute of Management STU will organise Day for Public 24th February 2022

Spectra, Centre of Excellence and Institute of Management STU (where Spectra is based) will organise Day for Public. This event will be held on Thursday, 24th February 2022 at 1,00 PM online (see the link in the picture). The main goal of the event is to introduce the accredited study programmes of the Institute of Management . Showcases of the work of the current students, ERASMUS experiences and discussion about study will be in the spotlight. We are looking forward to meet you at Spectra, Centre of Excellence.

AESOP 2021 PhD WS

Network Conference of spa-ce.net 2021: September 21-22, Belgrade / hybrid

Dear colleagues,
annual meeting of our Spa-ce.net network will be held in Belgrade, 21st-22nd September 2021. The event will be organized by the University of Belgrade and Western Balkan Network under the headline "21st year of 21st century -  Western Balkans’ Challenge of Common Future" in a hybrid format. Please find attached the Call. Paper abstracts have to be submitted to wb2121@gef.bg.ac.rs by August, 1st, 2021, using the attached form. The organizers would also very much appreciate if you further distribute this information to all interested researchers.

The City of Bratislava and Spectra, Centre of Excellence organised on 8th November a local conference within the European research project POLYCE.

The aim of the event was to bring together local and regional stakeholders in order to discuss about preliminary project results and strategies developed for the city of Bratislava. Among the audience there were representatives of the city of Bratislava, municipalities, spatial planning research bodies and business related to spatial development.

V rámci projektu ConnectGREEN, ktorý sa zameriava na obnovu a manažment biokoridorov v horských regiónoch povodia Dunaja, vznikla aktivita zameraná aj na deti a mládež. Štátna ochrana prírody SR spoločne s partnermi – WWF Slovensko, Slovenská agentúra životného prostredia a SPECTRA Centrum Excelencie EÚ pri STU v Bratislave, spúšťajú video súťaž s názvom „Konektivita pre všetkých“.

Disponibilita nájomných bytov je jedným z kľúčových faktorov flexibility, mobility a zároveň stabilizácie kvalifikovanej pracovnej sily tam, kde ju ekonomika potrebuje. Má teda nielen sociálny, ale aj ekonomický rozmer. Slovensko výrazne zaostáva za vyspelými krajinami i krajinami V4 v počte nájomných bytov, a preto je posilnenie tohto segmentu bývania objektívnou potrebou a legitímnym politickým cieľom. Túto potrebu identifikuje jednoznačne aj analýza spracovaná tímom priestorového plánovania zo SPECTRA Centra pri STU a reflektuje návrh Vízie a stratégie rozvoja Slovenska do roku 2030 pripraveným pre Vládu SR v širokom participatívnom procese poprednými domácimi aj zahraničnými odborníkmi. Vláda pod vedením Smeru však nikdy nenabrala odvahu na schválenie tohto materiálu nastavujúceho nielen zrkadlo do minulosti, ale hlavne definujúceho potrebu zmeny v štýle vládnutia.
